ब्रह्म-सूत्रम्
brahma-sūtram--
अन्वय-व्यतिरेक
anvaya-vyatireka .
--------------------------
The subject-matter of the Vedanta is Brahman / ब्रह्मन् .
The study of the way that helps attainment of Brahman / ब्रह्मन् is called ब्रह्मचर्य / brahmacarya .
There is the नैष्ठिक-ब्रह्मचर्य / naiṣṭhika-brahmacarya, which may be a state prior to the beginning of the stage of puberty, or one that is attained during and after this age.
जितेन्द्रिय / jitendriya is one who has acquired full control over the senses of pleasure.
This is the essential requisite for performing साधना / sādhanā, (the Spiritual practice) without exception, for all who aspire the attainment of Brahman / ब्रह्मन् .
The child even as infant and before that as a fetus or even when is an embryo in the womb is at the stage of the manifest Brahman / ब्रह्मन् . Brahman / ब्रह्मन् is the entity that keeps growing, expanding irrespective of external help.
A वृक्ष / vṛkṣa / प्लवन्तः / plavantaḥ that is a tree or plant also grows in this way.
An egg or a seed is likewise a living potential either in the sleeping or in the waking mode.
The Mathematical tool in the form of a method as Laplace or Fourier Transformation is already in application in the study of Vedanta Brahman / ब्रह्मन् .
The very first chapter of the ब्रह्म-सूत्रम् / brahma-sūtram; - the prominent Vedanta-text is named :
समन्वय / samanvaya that is translated in near-about terms as :
Reconciliation through proper inter-relation.
This is exactly the "Integration by Parts".
The next (the second) chapter of this book ब्रह्म-सूत्रम् / brahma-sūtram; is named :
अविरोध / avirodha; - that is equivalent to :
"Partial Differentiation".
The next 2 chapters are titled :
साधना / sādhanā, and फलम् / phalam .
This makes this great text ब्रह्म-सूत्रम् / brahma-sūtram; - quite different in genre, to the other 2 great-texts namely :
श्रीमद्भग्वद्गीता / śrīmadbhagvadgītā and the उपनिषद् / upaniṣad .
Though in many other Vedanta-texts such as
विवेक-चूडामणि / viveka-cūḍāmaṇi ,
अपरोक्षानुभूति / aparokṣānubhūti ,
पञ्चदशी / pañcadaśī ,
The same साधना / sādhanā, and फलम् / phalam, have been explained along-side with :
अन्वय-व्यतिरेक / anvaya-vyatireka .
