गीता-सन्दर्भ
अध्याय 3,
अथ केन प्रयुक्तोऽयं पापं चरति पूरुषः ।
अनिच्छन्नपि वार्ष्णेय बलादिव नियोजितः ॥36
काम एष क्रोध एष रजोगुणसमुद्भवः ।
महाशनो महापाप्मा विद्ध्येनमिह वैरिणम् ॥37
धूमेनाव्रियते वह्निर्यथादर्शो मलेन च ।
यथोल्बेनावृतो गर्भस्तथा तेनेदमावृतम् ॥38
आवृतं ज्ञानमेतेन ज्ञानिनो नित्यवैरिणा ।
कामरूपेण कौन्तेय दुष्पूरेणानलेन च ॥39
इन्द्रियाणि मनो बुद्धिरस्याधिष्ठानमुच्यते ।
एतैर्विमोहयत्येष ज्ञानमावृत्य देहिनम् ॥40

इच्छाद्वेषसमुत्थेन द्वन्द्वमोहेन भारत ।
सर्वभूतानि सम्मोहं सर्गे यान्ति परन्तप ॥27

Inattention (अनवधानता),
Ignorance - lack of information (अज्ञान), and
Delusion (सम्मोह).
The Last stanza 7/27 refers to the Delusion (सम्मोह) associated with the mind of all creatures without exception. As it is inherent in every-one from the very birth, it causes Desire (इच्छा) and jealousy (द्वेष) as a consequence. No one who is thus born is free from the duo; namely Desire (इच्छा) and jealousy (द्वेष). The far more stronger is the Ignorance (अज्ञान) and the Negligence (प्रमाद) that this Delusion (सम्मोह) is manifest in every-one.
This Power of Delusion (सम्मोह) thus forces one to indulge into the inauspicious tendencies like the of the mind namely the Lust / Greed (काम / लोभ) and Anger (क्रोध).
Lust (काम / लोभ) consists in hope for attaining a profit in the anticipated 'future' which is obviously not at the 'present' moment. This hope is felt like 'pleasure' and the fact that at the very moment the 'profit' that is supposed to be gained in'future' is totally absent even now.
This Inattention (अनवधानता) to, and Ignorance - lack of information (अज्ञान) of the fact, are the two aspects of the Delusion (सम्मोह).
This is how one keeps lost in misery and sorrow in the life.
