Ancient Tamil Language, Culture and Tradition.

Dravidian, Aryan, Tamil and Sanskrit
--
I came across Tamil when I knew Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi and His Literature.
I tried hard to learn the language but then felt, without oral practice, this language could not be learnt well satisfactorily. There are two kinds of scripts used in Classical Tamil one is Grantha-lipi, while other is the Brahmi-script  accommodated to help and facilitate legal and literary requirements.
The 12 lands around The River Kaveri constitute the mainland of Tamil-speaking people.
Dr. Nagaswami has narrated the whole truth in the video.
I also felt that the purpose of simplifying Tamil was to meet the requirements of the average people.  They really don't need the many letters that are there to serve the literary precision,
However the two reasons why this was allowed could be seen in the fact that All Veda-knowledge was taught orally as well as in written as well.
When it comes to share the same, the Granth-lipi / ग्रन्थ-लिपि was introduced so as to enable the pronunciation perfect. Dr. Nagaswami has cleared many a doubts about our understanding of the ancient Tamil Language, Culture and Tradition.
