त्रिग्रथिताः (The Three Triads)
--
यंत्र, मंत्र और तंत्र : स्थूल, सूक्ष्म और व्यापक
(yantra, mantra, and tantra : Gross, Subtle and Comprehensive)
Existence; -The Potential and the Manifest comprises of three expressions of the same and unique Reality. By 'Unique' we tend to think it is 'One'. Though it is the Sole and Soul Existence, classifying it as 'one' or 'many' at once bifurcates the same into the the 'one' who thinks of it, and the one that is thought of. The apparent division of the thinker and the the thought (the noun) at once emerges out. Along-with emerges the thought (the verb) as well.
This triad again at the Gross, Subtle and the Comprehensive, all-pervasive levels give rise to person, the world and the (imaginary sense of) relationship between the two.
Here is also a strange paradox. The thinker can imagine and Superimpose even yet another entity that governs the whole Phenomenal and the Potential. This may be called 'God' or 'The Lord Supreme' or by a name you would like to give it.
--
The Sanskrit Connection :
--
यंत्र / yantra; - signifies movement; -the one that is external to the thinker.
मंत्र / mantra; - signifies the movement -the one that is internal to the thinker.
तंत्र / tantra; -signifies the movement that is outward as well as inward too.
These 3 elements constitute the whole existential game-plan.
--
यंत्र / yantra, मंत्र / mantra and तंत्र / tantra could again be viewed in terms of 'देवता' / 'devatA' of which (at least in my knowledge) there is no equivalent in English. We could loosely call it 'Spirit'.
Interestingly; this word 'Spirit' too is a cognate of the संस्कृत word 'स्फुरित' / 'sphurit' / 'स्फूर्त' / 'sphoorta'. There are many other words like 'spate' and 'spurt' which owe their origin to the same Sanskrit root ' 'स्फुर्'. One such word is 'Phosphorus'.
'Phosphorus' could again be traced to the Sanskrit word 'प्रस्फुरस्' which means 'shining' / 'burning' by itself. 'burn' is again सज्ञात / cognate अपभ्रंश / aberration of 'ज्वल्' / 'ज्वर्'.
--
यंत्र / yantra, मंत्र / mantra and तंत्र / tantra could again be of the form and essence of 'वैदिक' / 'vaidika' or 'अवैदिक' / 'a-vaidika' . Originally belonging to the 'Veda' (all-pervasive Gross, Subtle and the Comprehensive Knowledge) is what is summarily called 'वैदिक' / 'vaidika'.
Again,
यंत्र / yantra, मंत्र / mantra and तंत्र / tantra could again be of the form and essence of
'अवैदिक' / 'a-vaidika', that is not belonging directly to the Veda.
Veda is the the timeless (all-pervasive Gross, Subtle and the Comprehensive Knowledge) and therefore is all-inclusive as well.
This 'अवैदिक' / 'a-vaidika' knowledge, though prevalent in different cultures and traditions is usually preserved and maintained through customs. Usually by means of the word of mouth. That is by the spoken and the heard word.
There are therefore the यंत्र / yantra, मंत्र / mantra and तंत्र / tantra,
essentially of the शाबर / shAbara kind.
We have the words 'Cyber' 'Cipher' and 'Sabre' that connote the शाबर / shAbara.
--
शाबर / shAbara is cognate of शर्व / शर्वरी / शबरी / a word in Sanskrit; - meaning 'the night'.
There is another word 'शब' / 'sheb' in the Persian from Urdu and in turn in Urdu from Sanskrit
शाबर / shAbara, 'शब' / 'sheb'.
--
This is therefore the Real Black Magic.
We might remember :
Magic itself is a derivation of 'Mayik' which is closely connected with the 'Mayan' Civilization.
