The Divine and the Divination
--
In my study of languages I per chance (or by divination) discovered How the word
"Arch-Angel" is but a cognate (सज्ञात / सज्ञाति) of
Rishi ArSha-Angira ऋषि आर्ष अङ्गिरा / अङ्गिरस्.
Then while after reciting gAyatrI-mantra (गायत्री-मंत्र) in the traditional way; that is performing
जप / japa, it occurred to me that the Greek word 'Theo' is a cognate (सज्ञात / सज्ञाति) of
'धियो' / 'dhiyo' in this phrase.
'धियो' / 'dhiyo' in Sanskrit is the conjugated form (विभक्ति-रूप) of the प्रातिपदिक / prAtipadika 'धी'.
- as in the gAyatrI-mantra (गायत्री-मंत्र); -Genitive Case singular person),
Though also the Nominative plural, in some other places.)
धीः धियौ धियः 1
धियम् धियौ धियः 2
धिया धीभ्याम् धीभिः 3
धिये धीभ्याम् धीभ्यः 4
धियः धीभ्याम् धीभ्यः 5
धियः धियोः धियाम् 6
धियि धियोः धीषु 7
हे धीः हे धियौ हे धियः 8.
--
According to Grammar rules धियः takes the form 'धियो' / 'dhiyo' as is there in the
gAyatrI-mantra (गायत्री-मंत्र).
The Greek word "Theo" for God / Religion is no doubt has origin in this word 'धियो' / 'dhiyo'.
We can think The Greek knew these roots in the ancient times.
And later on the same word "Theo" become synonymous of 'Religion'.
'Religion' which could be traced to have roots in the Sanskrit word :
पृ - लग्न / परिलग्न ;
was therefore used as an alternative for 'Theo'.
(Not as a rule of thumb only, but as a general rule,).
the word 'thumb' itself is a cognate of the Sanskrit word 'स्तम्भ' / staMbha, which finds a great place in the vocabulary of English. This takes the forms like : 'stem', 'system', 'stump', 'stamina', even the word "thiamine" / vitamin in medicine.
Avoiding diversion, let us come to the point.
'धर्म' in Sanskrit; -means 'स्वभाव' that is 'nature'.
'nature' comes from 'नृ' which again has a generated a long list of words in many language :
Like : 'Nation', 'Nazion', 'National', nephew, niece, nepotism,
In Sanskrit :
'नृ' 'नर, 'नारद', 'नारायण', नारी, नाडी, नाद
In Hindi :
नृषु -- नृषुल -- नस्ल (race)
We have strong reason to see that :
'धर्म' in Sanskrit became 'Therm' in Greek.
The same word is used to denote the 'nature' of 'Heat' / Fire.
I just want to point out the pattern and connection.
--
In Physics :
'Temperature' that again means an attribute of matter comes from :
"तं पर चर" "तत्परं चर" and is the inherent nature of all things.
--
प्रवर is dubbed into 'Power',
प्ररोहण Pharaoh (in छान्दोग्य उपनिषद् 5 /3 श्वेतकेतु -पाञ्चाल संवाद)
This is further in coherence with the fact that पाञ्चाल-जनपद in the महाभारत
narrates about the same Pir-Panjal region of Himalaya adjacent to the land of Pharaoh.

I have written many a posts in this blog in 'Philology' that could be relevant to this post.
