In the clan of Shreeraama / रघुवंश there was a King Vikramaditya / विक्रमादित्य,
The clan of Shreeraama / रघुवंश is also known as the clan of  मनु / Manu, who the Father of
'इक्ष्वाकु' / 'IkShvAku'.
In the foremost important text of सनातन-धर्म / sanAtana-dharma; -श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता / shreemadbhagvadgeetaa The Sun-God 'विवस्वान्' / आदित्य / Aditya, is said to have taught to
मनु / Manu, -the most sacred knowledge of 'Atman'.
Prior to that Lord Shrikrishna / भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण had revealed the same Raja-Yoga / राजयोग / this knowledge to Lord Sun.
The same was taught by मनु / Manu to His son 'इक्ष्वाकु' / 'IkShvAku', who was the foremost Ancestor in the Clan of Raghu / रघु.
The exact verse in the chapter 4 [श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता, अध्याय 4] are precisely :
इमं विवस्वते योगं प्रोक्तवानहमव्ययम्।
विवस्वान्मनवे प्राह मनुरिक्ष्वाकवेऽब्रवीत्।।1
एवं परम्पराप्राप्त मिमं राजर्षयो विदुः।
स कालेनेह महता योगो नष्टो परंतप।।2

कवि कालिदास / a great Sanskrit poet Kalidasa, who was a contemporary and friend of King
Vikramaaditya / विक्रमादित्य of Ujjain / उज्जैन knew the secret how Vikramaaditya / विक्रमादित्य belonged to the clan of Raghu / रघु .
Another King was the King of Kashmir Lalitaaditya / ललितादित्य, who also was in the same lineage of Shreerama / श्रीराम .
कवि कालिदास His work  रघुवंशम् describes the race of Shreerama / श्रीराम thus :
दिलीप
रघु --अज--दशरथ--राम--कुश, (and लव);
पौष्य--ध्रुवसन्धि--सुदर्शन--अग्निवर्ण ;
अग्निवर्ण is supposed to be the last descendant to Shreerama / श्रीराम .
In folk-lore,
King Vikramaditya / विक्रमादित्य finds place in the following two great Sanskrit works :
1. सिंहासनद्वात्रिंशी (32 पुत्तलिका / mannequins)
2. वैतालपञ्चविंशतिः (25 betaala / वैताल / बेताल / वेताल or ghost-stories)
Both the works tell in lucid language How the King Vikramaditya / विक्रमादित्य was a Just King  who gave out the best justice to His subjects.
The second story  describes the adventures of the King when He was serving to a Master who was also a great Tantrika and taught the secrets of श्मशानतंत्र / the practice of  contacting the spirits.
Figuratively, following His Master's instructions, He used to carry a corpse on His shoulder to a place in the dark woods.
The story as described by the author looks though horrific, the idea behind the story is of
'spiritual quest', which ultimately results in 'Self-Realization'.
There is however a deep and secret spiritual teaching that might have inspired to the author, and he might have tried to reveal the same for those who deserve.
This body is verily the corpse because the spirit that dwells in this body is truly the ghost who claims it as 'his own' or 'he himself' indeed.
This is however quite a gross mistake and leads one to misery and sorrow.
The Guru / Master however teaches to the disciple :
"As long as you take yourself the possessor of this body, you are really 'possessed".
And in his attempts the disciple keeps failing in grasping the hint.
The author thus only points out what is wrong in our 'spiritual quest'.
--
I have for myself however discovered a striking semblance, a parallel in the parlance of Veda.
The 'spiritual quest' is likened to the story of 'Indra' / इन्द्र, who is one having performed a 100
'अश्वमेध यज्ञ' and no one who has not performed this feet could not attain this title.
Though 'Indra' / इन्द्र is the Lord of the heavens - the Celestial, and all lesser Gods are His subjects, He is not one to attain liberation unless He has developed austerities that are a must for all and any-one whosoever is engaged in spiritual quest and has an deep and urgent longing for the same.
--
There are other parallels like the mind, the 5 gross and subtle elements.
And all these conveniently fit in the story of the 'Moonyan'
--
The endeavor to send a space-ship to Moon is no lesser a feet than an अश्वमेध यज्ञ, and ISRO in this respect no less than 'Indra' / इन्द्र .
Rigveda / ऋग्वेद which greatly praises 'Indra' / इन्द्र, equates Him to the Lord Almighty.
On the other hand, INDIA too is a variation of 'Indra' / इन्द्र .
इसरो ईश्वरो इन्द्रः at once points out to इस्र as I have deduced in my earlier blogs and no doubt,
Israel is but ईश्वरालय only. But there are deeper implications as well.
Those who have read my earlier posts and know Sanskrit well can sure get many insights here.
