This reminds me of the इल आख्यानः (वाल्मीकि रामायण उत्तरकाण्डम् सप्ताशीतितम सर्गम्)
ila ākhyānaḥ (vālmīki rāmāyaṇa uttarakāṇḍam saptāśītitama sargam) ... chapter 87 of this Text which is as much important as महाभारतम् / mahābhāratam.
Gives a clue of the whole past when भृगु / bhṛgu (Venus) had a daughter (virgo) and a king, a disciple of भृगु / bhṛgu ... There is also the story of Mercury (budha) and the King ila, this is very beautiful description of the incidences of the Astronomical significance. This whole story is a parallel to passing of the 'Solar Year'.... How ila was transformed into a man and kept transforming from male to female body every month till 12 months. ila and budha (Mercury) gave birth to Chandra (Moon) who at once attained the age of 16. Vedika Jyotish deals with these things in minute details.....
पाणिनेः अष्टाध्याय्याम् > pāṇineḥ aṣṭādhyāyyām ;
In the aṣṭādhyāyī Text by pāṇinī :
इल् > स्वप्नक्षेपणयोः , तुदादि / tudādi
il > svapnakṣepaṇayoḥ
1357 -
इल् > प्रेरणे > , चुरादि, / curādi
il > preraṇe

As 'अव्यय', this '-il' is a term (पद) that does not undergo change in form (declension), and as suffix belongs as 'प्रत्यय' / suffix belongs to a set of words that alter the meaning of a term associated /with it.
There is another letter (वर्ण / varṇa) 'ख्' / 'kh' (pronounced like خِ in Arabic / Persian / Urdu) .
Like all other letters (वर्ण / varṇa), this √'ख्' / '√kh' in संस्कृत saṃskṛta is a vector because like all other such letters (वर्ण / varṇa), this is uttered by animate entity, by some-one, a conscious living alive entity and therefore the elements प्राण / prāṇa and चेतना / cetanā are the cosmic (ब्रह्माण्डीय / brahmāṇḍīya) essential factors that provide its expression / manifestation in terms of strength, meaning and purpose.
Thus, whenever, wherever and in whatever language this letters (वर्ण / varṇa) is uttered, this at once invokes the अधिकारी-देवता / adhikārī-devatā (The Presiding Lord, The cosmic power associated with the individual consciousness and Governs the behavior of the 'subjects') though formless, has essence.
This is how संस्कृत saṃskṛta Matrix of Letters has been discovered by ancient sages (ऋषि / ṛṣi).
Thus √'ख्' / '√kh' + इल् / 'il' (as described in the beginning of this post), when joined give us the 'term' 'खिल् / khil' that has numerous meanings and could be further developed to give a large number of other terms. All are expressive of the same अधिकारी-देवता / adhikārī-devatā (The Presiding Lord, The cosmic power associated with the individual consciousness and Governs the behavior of the 'subjects').
But the ordinary man, who speaks his mother-tongue, is totally unaware of this secret.
Those (ऋषि / ṛṣi) who could 'discover' and were granted this by the Grace of Lord शिव / śiva through His own sounds emanating from His drum डमरू / ḍamarū / ढक्का / ḍhakkā, recorded this मातृका / mātṛkā. This is precisely the Fundamental अक्षर-समाम्नाय / akṣara-samāmnāya where-from the sages / ऋषि / ṛṣi कात्यायन, यास्क, पाणिनी, पतञ्जलि / kātyāyana, yāska, pāṇinī, patañjali developed their own specific systems.
As The Whole Cosmos ब्रह्माण्ड / brahmāṇḍa is but a tiny droplet of waters (Life) in the जटा / jaṭā
