द्वौ सुपर्णौ / a couple of leafs

द्वौ सुपर्णौ

प्रपूर्णयति पर्णो पालयति पल्यते पलं ।
पल्लवितो पलितमेव जीर्णो जरितमपि तथा ॥
परिपूर्णो च संपूर्णो फलति फल्यते तथा ।
बीजरूपेण शयितं सुप्तं वटस्यपत्रे यथा ॥
सृष्टा सृष्टिः परिपालको संहर्तापि भवेच्च स ।
पुराणो नित्यो अजरः चिरन्तनो सनातनो ॥

अर्थ :
पत्ता / पत्ते / पत्तियाँ संपूर्ण अस्तित्व है । सृष्टि के रूप में अभिव्यक्त होकर स्वयं का पालन पोषण करता हुआ पल-पल वर्धमान रहता है, इसलिए ब्रह्म है । फैलता और विस्तार पाता हुआ पककर झर जाता है । वह ’पूर्ण’ ’संपूर्ण’ होते हुए फल के रूप को ग्रहण कर फलित होता हुआ बीज को गर्भ में धारण करता है । बीजरूप में अपने ही गर्भ में पलता हुआ, जैसे वट के पत्र में वासुदेव शयन करते हैं । वही सृष्टा, सृष्टि परिपालक तथा संहारकर्ता है । पुरातन से भी पुरातन, नित्य, जरारहित (अविनाशी) सदा रहनेवाला, सनातन है ।

prapūrṇayati parṇo pālayati palyate palaṃ |
pallavito palitameva jīrṇo jaritamapi tathā ||
paripūrṇo ca saṃpūrṇo phalati phalyate tathā |
bījarūpeṇa śayitaṃ suptaṃ vaṭasyapatre yathā ||
sṛṣṭā sṛṣṭiḥ paripālako saṃhartāpi bhavecca sa |
purāṇo nityo ajaraḥ cirantano sanātano ||

Meaning :
The leaf (life), file, filio, feel, is the whole existence in myriad forms. Having manifested oneself as this existence, keeps expanding moment to moment through and within one's own, therefore is known as brahman (ब्रह्म ). Prospers, Grows  and ultimately having grown to the extreme, withers out with grace. The leaf becomes the (flower and) the fruit / pod, and carries the seed of the whole existence within its womb. Jnanin (Wise) know, He is verily वासुदेव vAsudeva lying asleep there in the fold of the leaf of the Vat (वटवृक्ष) / the Indian fig-tree.
He is the Creator, The One Who looks after this Existence and takes back within Himself the same again and again, just for a play of a child. This is His माया mAyA / प्रपञ्च prapancha / प्रप्रगंतः propaganda .... ;)
He is the very Spirit Ancient-most, Eternal, Indestructible, Imperishable, Timelessly as Self.
