The Real, The Virtual, The Incidental and The Formal.

The Identity .
Till the last year I was on Face-book. I think on some day in October 2018, I finally left the Face-book. I still don't know exactly if the Face-book has really left me!
No, I haven't created any new fictitious identity.
Before some 2 years ago I had been on twitter, and one fine day I finally left it for good.
When you join a social networking site, you are expected to have and make a few friends.
This is but natural.
I too had many who I befriended.
But all used to come and go.
Though there were still about a hundred who I never unfriended and all they too were gone the day I opted out of the two sites.
Only one Italian friend remained at last who kept the friendship 'live' and running.
We occasionally exchange messages through email.
Why?
The only reason is; -we rarely address one-another by a name.
Really, the name hardly matters.
Why we need a name after all?
Do the birds, the animals have any names?
We use to name them too, but to them, it hardly matters.
Though in time they are conditioned, and begin to; -kind of believing they have a 'name'.
That too is not their 'belief' or 'faith', as we humans tend to have.
They have just learned to use this facility and find this often helpful in treating with the humans they are in connection, -they have to stay with and deal with.
I can't say when they 'die', what they might 'feel' about this facility.
For us humans this facility is often our individual and quite inevitably essential identity.
Once my Italian friend posted some piece on the Face-book.
The name of the friend was mentioned there in the piece.
I couldn't guess 'who' exactly was the person that had that name.
So I asked :
"Who is this person?"
"Oh! That is my real name."
"Do you really have a name? -Real or Fictitious? What does it mean? Is the name you or you the name?"
"No neither I'm a name nor a name is me."
Then on-wards we became the true friends.
That is why we never tried to know our 'real' names.
