My Stand-point.

A frustrated 'seeker' observed ...
"...ego cravings! The ego needs strength, perhaps the ego feels threatened!..."
--
His observation is true to some extent, but takes us nowhere.
Condemning 'ego' in no way helps us in eradicating this 'error' from the mind, which needs to be understood and Sri Ramana is exceptional in that He suggests in clear, unequivocal words to find out the nature of 'ego'. Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj suggests to stay and sink deep in this I-sense and J.Krishnamurti focuses on 'thought' and to consider its significance in all its ramifications / varied forms. As shri Ramana says in a nut-shell in Ramanageetaa* all these three ways lead to annihilation of this apparent 'I', they all 3 point out how to understand this 'ego' in its various aspects and not to condemn, glorify or criticize it. And that is the very point where I am very much disappointed / disillusioned from all other scholars, intellectuals and swami-s of these times and those zen, sufi and other self-proclaimed self-styled 'spiritual' / yoga / bhakti / tantra teachers of many hues. I don't claim they are wrong, but they are at least misguiding us through word-games. ...They lack clarity in themselves. Mystics and reformers are the most dangerous lot.
