Mind, Consciousness and 'The Knowing'.

Prelude :
My Face-book Status-update yesterday :
I was just thinking : In what respects the language of Art is similar to, or different from the language of dreams?
Going to check!
Good Night
p.s.
I was just dreaming, comparing Art with thinking while asleep!

Mind, Consciousness and 'The Knowing'.

The mind is an Artist who creates in two modes.
Narrative, - as in thought,
Descriptive / Demonstrative - as in dream.
Another way of looking at this fact may be,
There is voluntary creation and / or involuntary creation on the part of the mind.
Again, one may think either voluntarily as when one thinks in a specific direction, about something (object) of choice or compulsion.
Or, when one let the thinking just happen and let the thought takes its own course.
Another interesting fact is :
Imagination too can follow one of these ways.
To elaborate,
When it springs up on its own or is directed to some specific object of choice or compulsion.
Knowing, on the other hand is neither of the two.
Knowing is but having the perception how the creation is taking place.
Is it voluntary or involuntary.
Is it narrative, or descriptive?
Is knowing voluntary or involuntary?
Is knowing narrative or descriptive?
Is knowing a happening?
Is knowing an 'event'.
Thought / dream are kind of 'event' / happening that have a beginning and come to an end..
Is knowing an 'event' / happening that has / may have a beginning and come to an end.
True, knowing is a timeless movement in and beyond consciousness where-as consciousness is itself an 'event' / happening that has a beginning and an end too.
This movement of knowing is timeless, because it is neither static nor confined in its movement.
The narrative and the descriptive are ever so confined in time, space and consciousness.
And these 3 constitute an event, a happening.
Knowing is the ground, the canvas over which consciousness paints a picture, -in terms of a narrative or a descriptive form.

Corollary :
Could we distinguish between mind and consciousness?
Or, are they two words only for the same entity?
