आज सुबह ही ’रेडिफ़्’ के एक समाचार पर यह टिप्पणी की थी :
To-day I had posted a comment on a Business-Standard News-blog on 'Rediff'.
Believe it or not, Hindi is going to be the future world-language, one among the topmost.
This is not exaggeration or emotional out-break, but there are reasons to hope this.
अभी 4:00 बजे आकाशवाणी की एस्-एम्.एस्. सेवा में प्रधानमंत्री जी का यह संदेश पढ़ा :
"हिन्दी आनेवाले समय में विश्व की 3 सर्वाधिक प्रचलित, बोली-समझी, जानी-जानेवाली और प्रयुक्त भाषा होगी ।"

और पौने चार बजे नींद से जागने के पूर्व यह रचना मन में प्रकट हुई :
एकदा ब्रह्मणा उक्तम् :
’एकोऽहं बहुस्यामि..."
ततो वाचजायत् ।
वाचा कथितम् :
"अहमपि"

पप्रच्छ स ।
सा उवाच :
"भवितास्मि बहुला, बहुरूपा वा ॥

स्वित् / स्विद्
चिह्नत्वेन चिन् / चैनं
ब्रह्मत्वेन ब्राह्मणी / बर्मन् वा,
तमत्वेन तमिलं,
शकैः शाक्या / चेगिति,
पञ्चनद्यैः पञ्चाप / पंजाबिति,
त्रिविदाः त्रिवता / तिब्बतीया,
शार्दूलत्वेन सिंहिकायाः सिंहला,
अपि च तैलङ्गत्वेन तेलुगुः।
कर्णत्वेन कर्णाटकीया,
तथा च मलयाद्रि-प्रवहती मलया,
मलयालम् / मलयापि,
इन्दुदेशे इन्दवीया / हिन्दवी / ऐन्दवं,
इन्दोनेशियाम् अपि ।
सिंधुदेशे सैंधवी।
प्रकृत्या प्राकृत, पालिता च पालिनाम्ना,
वामत्वेन वंग-बंग,
उडुत्वेन औडीया / ओडिशिया।
केसरत्वेन काश्मीरा,
पुष्टा च पष्तोः ।
पिशाचैः पैशाची,
शरदत्वेन शारदा।
ब्राह्मी अतो हि ब्रह्मरूपा "

Once brahma / the creative aspect of
Lord Supreme announced :
Though One, shall become many.
As soon He spoke these words,
Goddess 'Vak' emanated from His mouth.
Thus She was verily His daughter.
"I too!"
Exclaimed She.
"How?"
Asked brahma.
To this She replied :
"I shall be through my myriad forms.
"ām!"
brahma blessed Her.
From this ām She was just exhausted,
And āṅglabhāṣā The English was born.
With prītyā phreñca, with Her love,
Was born French,
jīryamāṇā jarman,
owing to decline, German,
dainyatvena ḍen,
Owing to humility
Dane,
svīyatvena svīdiś,
Owing to self-concern,
Sweedish,
swit / swid,
Or like-wise,
from swet,
Swiss,
cihnatvena cin / cainaṃ
Owing to 'sign'
The Chinese,
brahmatvena brāhmaṇī / barman vā,
According to Her Brahman-form,
'Brāhmī' / Burman,
tamatvena tamilaṃ,
Owing to pervasiveness Tamil,
śakaiḥ śākyā / cegiti,
Czech from Her Strength,
pañcanadyaiḥ pañcāpa / paṃjābiti,
(Apart from Ganges and yamunā),
Having 5 rivers / waters as Her form
She got the name - Punjab,
trividāḥ trivatā / tibbatīyā,
Expressing Truth in 3 ways,
She became Tibetan,
śārdūlatvena siṃhikāyāḥ siṃhalā,
cub to lioness
Became siṃhalā, (Ceylonese)
api ca tailaṅgatvena teluguḥ
Again, by Her affection,
She became Telugu,
karṇatvena karṇāṭakīyā,
Because of Her generosity,
Kannada,
tathā ca malayādri-pravahatī malayā,
malayālam / malayāpi,
MalayAlam, Malaya / Malayan
Owing to Her wandering / flowing through the Malaya peaks,

Her connection with moon,
Indonesian, Hindi,

Like-wise, Sindhi, Persian,
Because She touched those places.
prakṛtyā prākṛta, pālitā ca pālināmnā,
Owing to Her inherent nature,
Became prākṛta,
pālitā,
Being loving and nourishing,
vāmatvena vaṃga-baṃga,
uḍutvena auḍīyā / oḍiśiyā|
kesaratvena kāśmīrā,
Bengali, Oriya, Kashmiri,
Because they are Her own people,
puṣṭā ca paṣtoḥ |
Nourishing, Pashto,
piśācaiḥ paiśācī,
Even to those who are cannibals,
Who ate raw flesh,
She became paiśācī,
śaradatvena śāradā|
Being Kind and Graceful,
She is śāradā
brāhmī ato hi brahmarūpā
Because I am Reality Supreme,
I am brāhmī also.

The Mother To All
