नासतो विद्यते भावो नाभावो विद्यते सतः।
उभयोरपि दृष्टोऽन्तस्त्वनयोः तत्वदर्शिभिः।।१६।।
(गीता अध्याय २)
This Divine Presence in the Vedika वैदिक parlance is called DevatA.
This manifest and evolved Reality as is in the form of व्यक्त and अव्यक्त continues to appear and disappear for the individual, whether either in a Conscious Being or in a manifest tangible Thing.
The most prominent DevatA / देवता is the one named as गायत्री.
Each and every such a देवता the Divine Entity exists and could be accessed in the available in the four forms -
बीज, नाम, मन्त्र and आकृति.
बीज is the seed,
नाम is the name of the entity as is in the pronunciation,
मन्त्र is the verbal description, and
आकृति is the audible and the visible form that connects the aspirant with DevatA.
Gayatri is thus the whole framework.
As is described and is spoken is -
ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वःतत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्।।
ॐ is the indeclinable अव्यय / अव्यय पद
भूः is the "BE"
भुवः is the "BEING"
स्वः is the "self" either as the Ultimate Brahman as ॐ or as in the sense of the self in the individual Conscious Being associated with the
अन्तःकरणम् / the mind,
With the four essential constituents :
मन, बुद्धि, चित्त अहं / अहम्
तत् - That Brahman तत् ब्रह्म
सवितुः - of savitA / सविता - यः सूयते वा वेत्ति इति सः = सवितृ / सविता = consciousness
वरेण्यं - Auspicious
भर्गो देवस्य -
The Divinity that Reigns over
धीमहि We contemplate
धी - thing; theme -thought as the mind / thinking as well as the object of thinking
धियः- of this thought = thing
Just as भूः is being, धीः is thinking - in the spoken language.
This is how the Greek word "Theo" originated that means God and the Spirit as well.
यः= सः - as told above
प्रचोदयात्।।
- May He / Tat inspire and illuminate in us the Wisdom in our Consciousness.
